These configurations are applicable for apply to ADP customers using who use the Smart Onboarding application for creating to create New Hire applicants in ADP through API integration.
On this page, the users can perform configure the following configurations ADP-related to ADPsettings:
- configure Configure the sections to be displayed display on the Complete Job Details page.
- sync Sync attributes from ADP.
- sync Sync Applicant Onboard templates from ADP and setup set a default template for the New Hire 's process.
- sync Sync SUI/SDI Tax Data tax data from ADP.
- Sync local tax codes.
Who can access the ADP related configurations?

Click on the menu icon to open the navigation menu on the left. Then, select the "Organization Management" link under the Organization Management section.
On the Organization Management page, click the "ADP Related Configuration" link. Note: This link shows only for ADP integrated organizations.
How do you configure the sections to be displayed on the Complete Job Details page?

In the "Sync HR Setup Data From ADP" section, click the “Sync Now” button. Wait or refresh until the status changes to ‘Success’. This action will sync ADP attributes with Smart Onboarding.
Note: Run this this sync process every time whenever new attribute values are added or existing values are modified in ADP to keep the attribute values in onboarding in sync with ADPensure they remain up to date in Smart Onboarding.
Note: The After running the HR setup data sync process, the attribute values for Rate Type - Type – Hourly (H) and Salaried (S) are not automatically created in Smart Onboarding after the HR setup data sync process is run. These two values should must be manually created through the added using Attribute Revision. (Click here to learn about Attribute Revision) using the values seen in the screenshots below

The initial step is to sync the Applicant Onboard templates from ADP. Before this, ensure that the template for the New Hire process has been created in ADP with all the necessary configurations.Click Click the “Get Templates” button under the "Sync Applicant Onboard Templates" section.

This will sync all active templates from ADP to Smart Onboarding, including any custom templates created in ADP.
Choose Select a default template for integrating New Hire data with ADP. Only one template can be selected set as the default at a time. After selecting Once you have selected the desired default template, click the “Get Template Setup” button next to that template to "Get Template Setup" to copy the template data from ADP.
Note: Selecting the Setting a default template will enable enables a section at the bottom of the page to sync for syncing SUI/SDI tax data and local tax codes from ADP. For more details, please refer to the following section.
Note: If the default template is modified in ADP Workforce, you should sync it again to update the New Hire process. Repeat this step to ensure the onboarding templates remain in sync with ADP.
How to sync SUI/SDI tax data from ADP?
To sync Click the “Sync SUI/SDI tax codes for different states, click the “Sync SUI/SDI Status” button under in the "Sync Tax Data From ADP" section to sync the SUI/SDI tax codes for different states.

- The sync process must be run whenever new SUI/SDI tax codes are added or existing values are modified in ADP to ensure they remain up to date in Smart Onboarding.
Only SUI/SDI tax codes that are in "Active" status in ADP will be synced to Smart Onboarding.
The total number of SUI/SDI Tax Codes synced will be displayed in the message as shown below. In this example, a total number of "13" SUI/SDI Tax Codes were synced from ADP.

Login to ADP Workforce and navigate to Setup → Tools → Validation Tables Under the Payroll sub-section, scroll down to the Tax Jurisdictions section and click the "SUI/SDI Jurisdictions" link. The page will show the active SUI/SDI Tax Codes available for your company in ADP. The total number of active SUI/SDI Tax Codes is displayed in the bottom right corner of the grid, as shown below. In this example, there are "13" active SUI/SDI Tax Codes, and only these codes are synced to Smart Onboarding when the “Sync SUI/SDI Status” button is clicked on the ADP Related Configuration page. To view all the SUI/SDI Tax Codes including the inactive ones, enable the "Show Inactive" button as shown below. In this example, the total number of SUI/SDI tax Codes including the inactive ones are "15" which means the status of the two SDI/SDI Tax Codes is inactive. |
Once the configuration is complete in Smart Onboarding, save the changes. After this, you may continue hiring new employees.
Note: The synced SUI/SDI tax data will reflect in the prompt for “SUI/SDI Tax Code” on the Complete Job details (CJD) page. For more details on the Complete Job details page, please click here.

How to sync local tax codes from ADP?
System Administrators must use the "Sync Local Tax Codes" button in the "Sync Tax Data From ADP" section to sync local tax codes from ADP. This process should be run whenever new codes are added or existing values are modified in ADP to keep the data up to date in Smart Onboarding.
Note: The "Sync Tax Data From ADP" section appears on the page once a template is selected as the default for the New Hire's onboarding.
Active local tax codes for your company in ADP will be synced to Smart Onboarding. Currently, local tax codes for OH School District (Ohio), NY MTA Local (New York), and PA LST Local 4 and PA Local 5 (Pennsylvania) are supported. Once the sync process is successfully completed, a confirmation message will appear as shown below.
If your company is not located in a state where local taxes apply, no local tax codes will be available for syncing. In this case, the following message will be displayed when the sync process is run.

Login to ADP Workforce and navigate to Setup → Tools → Validation Tables In the Payroll sub-section, scroll down to Tax Jurisdictions to view the local tax codes, as shown in the highlighted area of the screenshot below. These codes are synced to Smart Onboarding when the “Sync Local Tax Codes” button is clicked on the ADP Related Configuration page. By clicking the links School Districts/Local Tax Jurisdictions/Local Service Tax Jurisdictions, you may view the corresponding codes available under each category. The example below illustrates viewing the local tax codes for OH School District (Ohio), NY MTA Local (New York), and PA LST Local 4 and PA Local 5 (Pennsylvania). Once the configuration is complete in Smart Onboarding, save the changes. After this, you may continue hiring new employees.
Note: The synced tax codes will be available in the Local Tax section of theComplete Job Details activity, allowing HR Specialist to select the applicable codes as needed. This section will be available only if the employee's work or residence state is in Ohio, Pennsylvania, or New York. For details on the available fields for capturing local tax codes, click here.
