What are Events and Notifications?
Events and Notifications allow users to change the contents and presentation of emails that are sent to New Hires and other users within the business process (e.g. notifications that are sent when an onboarding activity is completed).
How do you add
Notificationnotification to an event?
Adding or modifying Notifications is a two step process.
- Create a Content Revision
- Add or modify a Notification Template
- Apply the Content Revision
- Create a Process Revision
- Add the new or modified Notification Template to an Event
- Apply the Process Revision
Step 1 - Creating a Content Revision
Create or modify a Content Revision to add or modify a Notification Template as shown here.
Step 2 - Creating a Process Revision
To create a Process Revision, click the menu icon on the top left corner of the page and select "Create Revision" under Revisions or click on "Add/Update Revision" on Quick links bar.
From this page, an Administrative User can either search for an existing revision to modify, or they can select "Add a New Value" which is at the top of the page if they wish to create a brand new revision.

On the Process Revision page opens, click on the "Configure Events & Notifications" link.
The Events and Notifications page opens as below. Click To add a new event, click "Add Event".
Select the an event for which you want to add the notification.
Select the Participant Pool, Role Type and the Notification Template.
Click on the Notification Template lookup icon to select a right template. (Note: Make sure the Notification Template is already created in the system through a Content Revision.)
In this example, we want to have a notification sent to the HR Specialist when there is a status change due to any action or process. Add more notifications if required for the events as necessary and click "Save".
The process navigates back to On the Process Revision page. Click on , click the "Return to Manage Revision" button to the main revision page.
Apply the revision.
How do you modify a notification for an event
to add Notification?
Create a new Process Revision or search for an existing revision one in progress to modify.
On the Process Revision page, click on the "Configure Events and Notifications" link.

In this example, we want aim to have send a modified "Submit to HR Notify" email sent to the I-9 Administrator when the New Hire completes the Submit to HR activity.
Since there are already other notifications that are being sent already configured in this instancesetup, click "Next" until the "On Action Complete/Submit to HR" action is shownappears.

Click on "Add" to add insert a new row for this event.

Select Role Type as the role that should receive the notification. In this example, the "I-9 Specialist" and role is chosen. Add the modified Notification Template for "Submit to HR Notify" and then save.
Note: The modified Modified Notification Template Templates will have the suffix "“[Revised]" ” added in its to their description.

After save, the process system returns to the Process Revision page. Select "Return to Manage Revision" to return to the main revision page.

This will return to the Manage Revision page. To apply Apply the changes made in the Process Revision, click on the "Apply" button.
