What are Attribute Preferences?
The Attribute Preferences page allows users to control manage the attributes that are being used in the Smart Onboarding process. Users can customize the these attributes depending on according to their preferencepreferences. Some of the things they can do on Attribute preferences are activating and inactivating the attributes, changing the name of the attribute for your organization, selecting the attributes to control the Homepage category driven content and Row Level security, and controlling the display of address.Another option to configure attributes is through Process Revision. For more details on process level Attribute Preferences, please click hereOn the Attribute Preferences page, users can activate or deactivate attributes, rename them for their organization, select attributes to control homepage category-driven content, make attributes available for row-level security, and specify attributes that allow adding an address on their attribute information page. What are attributes?
Attributes are basic data elements in the Smart Onboarding system. The values of attributes are used to control access within the system, and can be shown on pages and in emails generated in the system. You can also define your own attributes that can be used for these purposes.

Who can access the Attribute Preferences page?
System Administrators and Process Administrators Users with the System Administrator or Process Administrator role can access the Attribute Preferences page.

Click the menu icon and on the left, then select "Attribute Preferences" under Preferences from the navigation menu.

deactivate an attribute?
If you do not need an attribute that is provided, you can inactivate deactivate it in the Attribute Preferences. The attributes that are inactivated at the Organization level setup will not show up in the process level Attribute Preferences and also in the invitation & CJD pages. These inactivated attribute will stay in the system, so you can activate it again when needed.

To open process level Attribute Preferences, click on "Configure Attribute Preferences" in the Process Revision page.

On this page, the active/inactive status of the attributes will be derived from the Organization level Attribute Preferences setup. This is applicable for all Process Revisions that are in progress as well as new.
For example: If a Process Revision is created when an attribute is inactive at the Organization level setup, it loads as inactive from the Organization level setup and not from any prior process level status even if the attribute was active in the prior Process Revision.
Note: In process level Attribute Preferences, if the "Invitation Field" property is unchecked for an attribute, then that attribute will not show up in runtime invitation page. Similarly, if "CJD Field" is unchecked for an attribute, then that attribute will not show up in runtime Complete Job Details (CJD) page.

To deactivate the attribute(s), uncheck the box checkbox under the "Active" in Organization level Attribute Preferences column for those attributes and save the changes.
In this example, the attributes that are inactivated deactivated are highlighted below.

To reactivate the attributeswill not appear on the Invitation & Complete Job Details pages.. For more details on Process level Attribute Preferences, please click here. The deactivated attributes can be activated again when needed. To make the attributes active, check the "Active" checkbox in organization level Attribute Preferences for those attributes and save . After reactivation, the attributes will reappear in the process level Attribute Preferences with checkbox values (checked/unchecked) of the properties ((Invitation Field, CJD Field, Required, Contextual Content Allowed) same as how it were saved earlierthe changes again.
How do you change the name of an attribute for your organization?
On the left side of the page, you You can change the default name of an attribute by entering the new text under the "Override Labeland " column and save the changes.
As an In this example, the overridden label for the Business Unit is given as changed to "Division".

Example of overridden labels in ElasticsearchLet us consider modifying Company attribute name under Override Label and save as given below. Keyword Search
In this example, the label for the Company attribute is modified to "Customer". The modified label will reflect in all keyword Search category search pages wherever Company attribute is visible.

What attributes can you use to control homepage category-driven content?
Homepage category-driven content allows lets you to select choose an attribute to specifically change the customize homepage content based on the its value of that attribute. For exampleinstance, if you want to show display different photos images on each company's homepage, you can do that using achieve this through an Attribute Revision. If you want to make To enable homepage customization possible based on an attribute's value, select the attribute in on the Attributes Attribute Preferences page. If you do not want that customization, you can unselect prefer not to use this customization, simply deselect the attribute.
The attributes that you can use to control the homepage category-driven content are:
- Company
- Business Unit
- Department
- Location
- Organization
The following shows what homepage category-driven content customization looks like when using an Attribute Revision. Click on the "Manage Homepage Content" icon.

On the Attribute Preferences page, you can unselect deselect any of these attributes in order for those not be able to control to prevent them from controlling the homepage category-driven content.
Once you select or unselect any of the After selecting or deselecting attributes, make be sure to click on "Save at " at the bottom of the page to save the apply your changes.

Row Level Security determines which particular Business Users User can see what range of new hires. For example, if you limit an HR Specialist to be in-charge of only California Operations under Business Unit, that HR Specialist will not be able to process New Hires who are under another Business Unit, such as Florida Operations.
Row Level Security specification is available for four the following attributes:
- Company
- Business Unit
- Department
- Location

On the Attribute Preferences page, under the "User Security Allowed" column, select or unselect any of the four attributes.
Scroll down and click on the "Save" button.

If User Security allowed Allowed is checked for an attribute and saved, the attribute will be marked as required in on the invitation and Complete Job Details (CJD) pages.
Also the Invitation, CJD field and the Required fields in Process Attribute Preferences show as checked for that attribute and will not be allowed for unchecking.
Example:- Lets check User Security Allowed for Once the attributes are checked and saved in this setup, the configuration will also reflect in the Attribute Preferences at the process level.
In this example, "User Security Allowed" is checked for the "Department" attribute and save the configuration is saved.
Create a new Process Revision or open an "In Progress" Process Revision. Click on the "Configure Attribute Preferences" link.
For the Department attribute, note you will notice that the Invitation, CJD field Field and the Required fields are checked and in read only mode. The These fields are not allowed for unchecking.
They can be modified only if the "User Security Allowed" checkbox is unchecked for the corresponding attribute in the organization Attribute Preferences setup.

On the other way, if a process Revision is openNote: If a Process Revision is in-progress, the system will not allow you to change the "User Security Allowed" option for attributes on the organization Attribute Preferences page. An error message will be displayed as below if you check/uncheck the check boxcheckbox.
