Having Social Security Number is a requirement to work in the United States. However, aliens who go to United States on work or student visa may not have SSN when they step into the country. They need to apply for SSN and wait for few weeks before they receive it. In such cases, the employees can start to work temporarily without SSN, but once received they must provide it to the employer immediately before 90 days.

Smart Onboarding has an option provided in Employee Biographic Information for 'Applied for SSN' candidates.

New Hire checks Applied for SSN option and completes Employee Biographic Information.
