Manage Challenge Questions
When Smart Onboarding users log in for the first time, they are prompted to set up their Challenge Questions and Answers. For instructions on how they can set up the Challenge Questions, please click here.
This setup can be modified at any time using the Manage Challenge Questions option.
Who can access the Manage Challenge Questions option?
Smart Onboarding/I-9 users with all roles can access the Manage Challenge Questions option.
How do you access the Manage Challenge Questions option?
Click the menu icon on the left menu navigation and select the "Manage Challenge Questions" option under My Account.
The current Challenge Questions setup will be opened for editing only if the Challenge Questions option is enabled in the organization's Authentication Preferences.
If the Challenge Questions are not enabled in the organization's Authentication Preferences, the following message will be displayed on the page.
How to change your Challenge Questions?
Clicking the "Manage Challenge Questions" link in the left menu navigation will open the Manage Challenge Questions page. To modify the current details, click the "Edit" button at the bottom of the page.
Modify your Questions and Answers as needed. Enter hints related to your answers, then click "Update".
Note: If you click the "Cancel" button without saving your changes, the system will prompt you to either save or discard the changes.
Clicking "OK" will take you to the Challenge Questions page to save your changes, while clicking "Cancel" will return you to the home page.
When entering hints, ensure they are not identical to the answers. Otherwise, the system will display the following error message.
To modify an existing question, click on the dropdown and select a new one.
In case you want a new question to be added to this setup, click on "Add new question" option provided at the bottom of the page.
This will add a new row at the bottom as shown below.
Modify the question as per your choice, set up an answer and the hint. After you are done with the changes, click "Update".
When modifying or adding a new question, do not choose the questions that are already existing in the setup.
The system checks for duplicates in your selection and displays an error if any. Close the message and select a new question from the list.
For all modified or added questions, ensure you enter answers for each one. The system will check if answers are provided and display the following error if they are not.
Entering hints is optional. If you prefer not to display hints in the Challenge Question login setup, simply remove any values you have entered.
After updating, you will receive an email confirming the changes to your Challenge Questions.
If Challenge Questions are enabled in the organization's Authentication Preferences, you will be required to answer them each time you log into the system.
You will not be allowed to log in unless you answer the questions correctly. You can click "Show" to view hints and help answer the questions accurately.
