What is the E-Verify activity?

The only activity that shows under My Tasks for an a user with E-Verify Specialist role is the E-Verify activity. In this activity, the E-Verify Specialist initiates the interface with the USCIS E-Verify system by creating an E-Verify case for the New Hire's I-9 and manages the process through to completion, ensuring that employee eligibility is determined and the USCIS case is properly closed. 

Why do you need to perform the E-Verify activity? 

Completion of the Form I-9 is a mandatory requirement to be hired for employment in the United States. Completion of the form as part of Smart Onboarding includes validation of the New Hire's If the legal entity (Company or Business Unit) responsible for hiring is enrolled in E-Verify, the employee’s I-9 information by must also be verified through the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security. 

Who can perform the E-Verify activity?

This The E-Verify activity can be performed by any user who has with the E-Verify Specialist role. Typically this This role is typically assigned to users who have experience interfacing familiar with the DHS E-Verify systemprocessing.

E-Verify processing can be performed initiated after the I-9 Specialist completes or electronically signs the Form I-9 Section 2 activity for the employee's process.

How do you access the E-Verify activity?

If the logged-in a user has both I-9 Specialist and E-Verify Specialist roles, the E-Verify activity will be is automatically routed after completing the Section 2 task. AlternativelyIf the user has only the E-Verify Specialist role, the pending activity can be accessed through the My Task Tasks console or by using the Keyword Search within the My Tasks category.

Through Keyword Search My Tasks:

Click the Keyword Search icon and select "My Tasks" as the category. Enter a relevant keyword in the Keywords field, then click the "Search" button. In this example, "All" is used as the search keyword.

The results page will display invitations that match the search criteria and have a pending E-Verify activity.




Clicking on the E-Verify link will open the E-Verify page , where for the selected employee's process. By clicking on the "Create Case" button, you can create a New Hire's an E-Verify case and carry out further processing for the employee's case.
