Use this option if you want to allow corrections to Name Change or Reverification processes in your org. When this option is checked ON, the user will be able to see Section 3 correction options in I-9 Console actions and in Elasticsearch I-9 Life Cycle if any Reverification/Name Change completed process exists for an I-9 ID.

How do you enable Section 3 Corrections?

In the I-9 Options page, click the checkbox "Allow I-9 Section 3 Correction".

This allows I-9 Specialists view correction options for Name Change/Reverification in I-9 Console actions provided there exists a prior completed process for Name Change/Reverification for the I-9 ID.

What are the types of Section 3 Correction?

Section 3 corrections are of two types - Reverification Correction and Name Correction.

How do you access Section 3 Correction options?

There are two ways to access Section 3 Corrections.

1) via Console actions

Before you access Section 3 correction options, you need to identify transactions that has completed Name Change/Reverification process.

This you can identify in Reverify Console. Access Reverify Console via left navigation or quick links.

Select a transaction that has Name Change/Reverification process completed. Note the I-9 ID.

Navigate to I-9 Console via left navigation or quick links.

Search for the I-9 ID in I-9 Console. Click on Info and Actions for the selected I-9 ID.

Since we have selected a transaction with completed reverification, you will notice "Reverification Correction" option displayed under I-9 Console actions.

You will notice "Initiate Reverification" option appearing in console actions if the WAE date provided in the first reverification process falls within the reverification trigger days provided in I-9 options,

Below is the screenshot of I-9 Console actions when the WAE date falls within the reverification trigger days.

2) via Elasticsearch

Section 3 Correction in Elasticsearch appears under I-9 Life Cycle which displays only for process completed invitations.

Click on Elasticsearch icon and Select I-9 Life Cycle as category. Enter Last Name of the candidate in Keyword field and click Search. When search result appear, click on the image showing as "..." to access actions. On the related actions, click "Reverification Correction".

You will notice "Initiate Reverification" option appearing in Life Cycle actions if the WAE date provided in the first reverification process falls within the reverification trigger days provided in I-9 options,

Below is the screenshot of I-9 Life Cycle actions when the WAE date falls within the reverification trigger days.

Access the "Name Change Correction" the same way how you did for Reverification Correction. The same procedure has to be followed for accessing "Name Change Correction". The user will be able to see "Name Change Correction" in I-9 Console actions if any prior name change completed process exists for the I-9 ID. Unlike "Initiate Reverification" option which depends on the WAE date and reverification trigger days for displaying in the I-9 Console actions, the "Initiate Name Change" option is available to users always provided there is no pending process for the I-9 ID.
