If this this been deployed into the PeopleSoft environment, Proactive SoD serves as a way to check for SoD violations as you are assigning Roles to Users. This guide is based on the customization being made to the User Profiles Page in PeopleSoft.

Step-by-step guide

As a User please ensure you have access to the User Profiles page , under the Security menu in PeopleSoft.

  1. Choose a User from the search
  2. Upon loading the Page you will see a button at the top of the page: SoD Actions
  3. When assigning or removing Roles from a User, click Save and then press Validate User to check the Security against the chosen Model
  4. The scan that takes place will be against the Model that has the option selected for Proactive SoD
  5. Once the scan is complete a report will be available in the drop down
  6. In order to review the Violations that this assignment has created, please use the Print Report button to generate the pdf document. A pdf will generate showing the User, the Rules they break and the details of how the Rule is broken.
  7. At this point you can either remove the access or move ahead by providing a mitigation as to why this conflict continues to exist.

When checking for SoD Violations the Roles must be assigned and saved to the User. The scan will not pick up Roles that have been assigned in the Page, but have not been saved. If saving Users prior to an SoD check is a problem we suggest that using either a test User or utilizing this functionality in a non Production Environment.
