What is the E-Verify activity?

The only activity that shows under My Tasks for an E-Verify Specialist is E-Verify. The In this activity, the E-Verify activity consists of the initiation and completion of all processing through the DHS E-Verify SystemSpecialist initiates the interface with the USCIS E-Verify system by creating an E-Verify case for the New Hire's I-9 and manages the process through to completion, ensuring that employee eligibility is determined and the USCIS case is properly closed

Why do you need to perform the E-Verify activity? 

Completion of the Form I-9 form is a requirement to be hired in the United States.  Completion Completion of the form as part of Smart Onboarding includes validation of the New Hire's I-9 information by the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security. 

Who can perform the E-Verify activity?

This activity can be performed by any user who has the DHS Administrator E-Verify Specialist role. Typically this role is assigned to the users who have experience interfacing with the DHS E-Verify system.

When can you perform the E-Verify activity?

This activity E-Verify processing can be completed only performed after the I-9 Specialist has marked the Complete I-9 activity as being completecompletes or electronically signs the Section 2 activity.

How do you access the E-Verify activity?

The

If the logged-in user has both I-9 Specialist and E-Verify Specialist roles, the E-Verify activity will be automatically routed after completing the Section 2 task. Alternatively, the pending activity can be accessed through

"My Tasks" by the E-Verify Specialist. There are two ways to access My Tasks. 
  • Through My Tasks Console 
  • Through Keyword Search My Tasks

the My Task console or by using the Keyword Search My Tasks category.

Through the My Tasks Console:

All the New Hires whose onboarding process is at a point New Hire invitations that have reached the stage where the E-Verify activity is available and has but not yet been completed are shown. The console features segments such as the search filter for refining and locating particular transactions, a Quick Filter for swiftly identifying a specific New Hire or generating a list of New Hires based on specific criteria, and the search results section where transactions matching the search criteria are completed will be displayed.

Click the "E-Verify" link on for a specific transaction to create New Hire's open the pending E-Verify task, create the case, and proceed with the further E-Verify processing.

 My Tasks



If the E-Verify Specialist role has been granted access to download search results, a "Download File" option will appear in the console allowing them to download the search result to an excel file.




The search fields can be used to filter the search results displaying displayed in the console. In this example, the search results are filtered by the invitation Start Date.  Clicking on Clicking the "Download File" button will initiate the download of the search filtered results displayed in the console as an Excel file to your local computer.









Through Keyword Search My Tasks:

Click on the Keyword Search icon and select "My Tasks" as the Categorycategory. Enter an appropriate a relevant keyword in the Keywords field and , then click on the "Search" button. HereIn this example, "All" is used as the search keyword. 

The results page will display the rows with invitations that match the search criteria and have a pending E-Verify pending activity.




Clicking on the E-Verify link will open the E-Verify page, where you can create a New Hire's E-Verify case and carry out further processing for the employee's case.
