What is I-9 Audit?

This is a component added to the I-9 process to audit the changes made to the data or forms in all sections. The audit report is available to users through I-9 Console.

Who has access to the I-9 Audit?

Business Users with I-9 Specialist role can access I-9 Audit.

How do you access I-9 Audit details?

There are two ways to access the I-9 Audit details.

• Access via I-9 Console
• Access via Elasticsearch actions

Access via I-9 Console

In I-9 Console, the I-9 Audit details can be accessed through I-9 ID link or I-9 Summary.

Through I-9 ID link:

To navigate to the I-9 Console, click on the link in the Quick Links bar or under the Menu icon.

Click on any I-9 ID.

A drop down is displayed with three options. Select I-9 Audit from the list.

The audit page is displayed as below.

As a link on the I-9 Summary page

Navigate to I-9 Console and select an I-9 ID.

A drop down is displayed with three options. Select "I-9 Summary" from the list. 

The page navigates to I-9 Summary if there is only one invitation associated to the I-9 ID. If I-9 has more than one invitation, you will see the list of invitations displayed along with their business processes for which the invitation was created. Select any invitation ID.

The I-9 Summary page is displayed as shown. Click on Audit Details link.

The Audit page opens up for that I-9 ID.

Access via Elasticsearch actions

In Elasticsearch, the I-9 Audit details can be accessed through Employee I-9 Life Cycle and I-9 Summary.

Through Employee I-9 Life Cycle

The Employee I-9 Life Cycle can be accessed only for the completed invitations. Use employee's Last Name, DOB, Last 4 of SSN, Employee Status, Eligibility Type or any other I-9 Life Cycle category related search options in the keyword field.

(Note: You cannot use employee's invitation ID as the search keyword for accessing I-9 Life Cycle.)

Click on the I-9 Life Cycle link.

This opens the Employee I-9 Life Cycle as shown below. Hover on the I-9 ID grid, click on the "..." image and select Audit details. 

The audit details for that I-9 ID displays as below. 

Through Elasticsearch I-9 Summary page

You can access I-9 Summary page in Elasticsearch using "Invitations" actions. Search using an Invitation ID or any other Invitation related keyword search option. For any invitation, click on the image "..." and select "I-9 Summary".

The I-9 summary page displays as below. Click on the "Audit Details" link.

The I-9 Audit page opens up for that I-9 ID. Click on the arrows to expand the grids and see the audit details.

What information is shown in the I-9 Audit page?

The I-9 Audit page contains

• I-9 Header details
• Grids for each business process containing the Form I-9 Audit details (Section 1 & Section 2) 

I-9 Header details

The I-9 header details include I-9 ID, I-9 status, name of the candidate, important date fields and the legal entity. 

Grid(s) for business process launched

Since the I-9 shown above has two business processes associated to it, the audit page contains two grids one for each process.

Click on the right arrow to expand and navigate to Form I-9 Section 1/Section 2.

Example below shows Section 1 data for I-9 Section 1 correction process. As you can see, the old and new values are captured and displayed along with the effective date and sequence.
